About the event

Dr. Arjun Srivathsa - National Centre for Biological Sciences–TIFR
I'm a scientist trying to art and an artist trying (really hard) to science.
About the talk: The Jungle Book 2.0: A Scientist Revisits Kipling’s Jungles
Remember Mowgli, Baloo, and Shere Khan? India’s real jungles still buzz with their stories. But today’s plot includes highways, villages, and 1.4 billion human neighbors. As a conservation scientist, I explore how wolves adapt, leopards navigate obstacles, and bears find their ‘bare necessities.’ By blending science with storytelling, art, and humor, I try to reconnect people with wildlife, spark wonder, and inspire responsibility to protect our incredible natural heritage for future generations.

Herman Ramesh - Nature Conservation Foundation I am a carnivore biologist who works in the cold, harsh, but incredibly beautiful Trans-Himalayan landscapes of Ladakh & Spiti. About the talk: Outfoxing the Dogs: How a Clever Canid Stays Alive
