About the talk: Not Too Close, Not Too Far, Just Right: The Sun and Earth’s Habitability
Life on Earth exists thanks to a delicate balance created by our star. The Sun provides the energy that drives climate, weather, and the chemistry of life itself. But it is not just about warmth and light—the Sun also releases streams of charged particles and magnetic storms that shape the space environment around Earth. In this talk, we explore how the Sun helps make Earth habitable, what could make planets uninhabitable, and why understanding our star is key to finding life elsewhere.
